Person gets train builds giant friends list (I assume trains auto add friends or something?)

Person sends a 'bulletin' to friends list with link to some site they want to promote.

Site gets traffic via the 'highly intelligent' people from MySpace...

Hmmm, how can that be effective? I mean, it's little more than spam - and how many people actually click spam links?
