I'm not sure what you meant by "keywords" in terms of asking how effective they are. Do you mean meta keywords? Do you mean ranking for a certain keyword on Yahoo or Google? Either way, search engines matter and keywords matter. But it's good to do all you can. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
