I have freelanced a bit and I have been signed to a firm for 6 months over the last 2 years and I would say that having a job and steady paycheque is a lot better than freelancing. No matter how much it sounds boss to work for yourself it is a lot more stressful and unless you are amazing at managing your time, work, and contacts I find I didn't make as much freelancing as I did working for the firm over the period of time because a lot of your time freelancing is getting projects and keeping existing clients satisfied.
