As my final year project i was being asked by my lecturers to develop a system that searches the server files and lists those files in page when on clicking will open the page. Basically a smaller scale version of Google is what i am looking forward to. i would like to know how Google searches these pages......however it is not connected to stored values in database. so since, it doesn't deal with any database its gotta search the files to get the result. I hope i am right! I would be glad if someone could help me with different stages of the project. Will using PHP for this purpose be suitable enough?? please advice!
