They're going to follow the Flickr/Yahoo path IMHO, and pay for it out their ass. Wonder where Google Video falls into this.

I don't mind it. I trust Google to make good use of it. I'd much rather see Google buy it than anyone else, because I can count on Google not to flood it with ads and whatnot.
Zane, I had a hunch that Google will conquer the world years ago.

Didn't thing Google made dumb purchases. Just do a search for YouTube's financial situation. I don't even think they profit - and if they do, not nearly enough to warrant this pricetag.
