There are thousands of web hosting companies out there, but only a few dozen are true hosting companies like ***********.com, *********.com and hostmonster.com. Actually there is no the best host ever, but these companies have superb reputation and you will have a wonderful experience with them. What hosting solution are you going to buy?

You mean the hosting right?

- There are user opinions on this matter. But my Personal Favourite is Gnoxhost.com.

After looking at their site, particularly their navigation, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Never mind host a site there.

Here is my checklist before even considering a hosting company.

[] Toll-free contact number with non-outsourced techs.
Why: If they cant afford real techs, who knows what other ends they cut.

[] Actual business (not some random kid calling it an LLC or INC).
Why: These don't disappear so quickly because they are actually traceable for legal procedures.

[] Physical office location
Why:I don't want some kid hosting my site out of mom's house. These are the ones that disappear real fast.

[] Realistic prices
Why: cheap = Cutting corners somewhere, I doubt it is their paycheck.

[] Their own datacenters
Why: Because it takes much longer to fix issues if you go with a middleman. It also takes real physical control out of the hands of the host, I want a host who actually controls their servers.

[] Good reviews
Why: The above requirements help cut the really bad ones, but they only go so far. Reviews can be a good indicter that they are a good host.

There is no "Best" web host but only the web host that may be the "Best" for you or your specific needs.

You may find a ShoutCast host or a Blog host that is absolutely FANTASTIC for what you need but I wouldn't say that they are the best host out there as an example.

In reality to find the host that best meets your needs you need to do a lot of research into any hosting company you may be considering. Village Idiot's checklist is a good start but there are quite a few more criteria I would consider when choosing a web host

Best of luck.

I guess no provider to be the best of the best. Everything depends on the current needs of the clients.

I can say *******.net is very good, one of the best possibly - VPS, Shared, dedis, special application and torrent hosting in three datacenters in US and EU for reasonable money - that is what I call good.
