Anyone else had this kind of experience?
We drove up today at around 4am to the local Best Buy - in northern areas of Chicago, of course I imagined there to be a line but to my surprise there must have been at least 1,000 people there. The line spanned from Best Buy, past Borders, past Costco (huge warehouse), seemingly there was no end to it. Realizing even if I stood in line I’d never get what I came for anyway, and it just happened to be I had my camera on me …
Unable to find a parking space close to the store with a nice view, basically we stood in the middle of the lot watching the mass of people crowd behind the door, eager to get inside (as it was only 15 or so degrees). One minute till opening at 4:59 A.M. the camera rolled, and when the doors opened all hell broke loose. Taking the lead were, of course, the first ten or so people in line … All rushing to the doorway of the Best Buy, although you’ll imagine my surprise when an older madam came rushing from behind our car. This act was followed by at least twenty other groups and individuals ‘cutting’ every single person in line rushing to the doorway. Following this move, hundreds of people began to rush up from the back of the line to get their own spot, seeing it was the only choice they had if they wanted their hours worth of waiting to pay off.
Anyway, it was total chaos, if you’re interested in the video I’ve linked to it below as well as a brief description if you don’t fancy reading this entire paragraph.
