Business Line
So recently I have been looking into getting a business phone.
I need a cell since I will be mobile. I was thinking of just call forwarding - but I think I would prefer having another cell for the business calls.
What do you guys think?
-I don't want my personal phone to get pranks
-I want to be able to shut off the phone when I am not working.

I have been thinking about the exact same thing recently. I'm not sure if its better to just get another cell phone plan or use Skype.
You definitely don't want your business phone to be the same as your personal phone because you don't want to be taking calls when you are off.

After looking a bit more into this it might be cheaper to go with Skype. Subscriptions go from $2.95-$9.95...I think that's a whole lot cheaper then a separate line anywhere else.

Yeah skype would be the best to be honest, an extra line on a cellphone plan usually costs $10 extra, plus you gotta pay all the extra taxes, and sometimes you have to upgrade your line which will cost another $10-15 a month. Skype is the way to go even though I've never used it.

or you can buy the phone and put in a pay as you go simcard and never top up, as you won't be making the calls, If you are then just top up a small amount.
It's not like you're gonig for a state of the art phone, so an old one will do the trick, just something that phones.

Very rarely will a number get pranks just because it's publicly available on the internet. I've had my cell phone number attached to public whois for 4+ years, and it's been posted on a few forums. Never got pranked by anyone that wasn't siblings/friends.
Sure I get the occasional telemarketing call, but I block their numbers so they can't call me again.

Yea I'd do what BetaOrange has said, I've been meaning to buy a second phone for a while now. I wouldn't personally use my normal phone for business either, mainly due to the possibility of receiving a call at anytime, e.g. on a night out at 1am.

That is exactly why I jailbroke my iPhone. I have an app that allows me to delegate if I want to receive calls/txts during certain times, or even allow to set privacy settings on callers.
I use iBlacklist to moderate calls through the day/night. At night I set my phone so that I only accept those in my contact list that have been allowed on the whitelist. And everything else goes straight to voicemail.
