Although i do not use AdSense (due to you have to be 18 to receive payment). This news is quite interesting because i would like to see how competitors are going to react, althouh some have already tooken this step into the "new ad" generation. I guess they decided a time for change would benefit?

Competition is always good. Company’s are going to have to start increasing there revenue share % to stay in contention. Meaning us publishers will be making more money.

I hope this isn’t just a rumour an will actually happen some time soon.

I wouldn't use those new ad types on my sites ever! Those are the kinds of ads that tick off readers. Just look at the big sites using them like About.com. When I worked there, I had readers contact me saying they'd never use the site again because the ads were so intrusive with ads floating around and changing sizes, blocking out the text they were there for. Never.

I don't use about.com anymore exactly for that reason.

I'd hate to see smaller sites become as ridiculous by using these kinds of new ads. It's supposed to be the "information superhighway" not the "advertising superhighway", right? If sites become too ad-based as a whole, I'll go back to reading more books thank you very much.

I know what you mean Bennett, I don't use about.com either..people get greedy and cover their sites in adverts and end up losing market share. I used to love reading a wrestling news site www.nodq.com but now I can't actually load it because of the stupid adverts (totally crashes me pc!).
