I thought that 4.0-6.0 or something like that is bad on the server load? Nevertheless, they may have just had a spike.

Where did you get that idea?
One of my servers is running with a load of .10 and it's not at all empty.

the load is supposed to be one per core you have, so a quad core shouldnt be above 4. the shared server I am on has spikes of 5, the highest ive seen is 7

That will always happen, whether it be a short spike or a long spike. Depending on how much traffic other users on that server use, the load can be higher or lower. The guy even responded saying it was because a large site was backing up their files.

I didnt know anything about servers at the point. you have to understand one thing, he has about 15 users who kiss his ass, they claim he is the best around and such. they will act like you are a lying sneak if you even seggust there is a better shared host. they do most of his marketing on a web design and programming board on gamefaqs.com
