  Old  [Hiring] Advanced Photo Gallery

Hi,

We're looking for a PHP/SQL programmer for a work to be done in a week, so, you have to be free now

The job : create an advanced photo gallery
The budget : 500 $

What we NEED :

- Multi-categories and sub categories
- Multi-photographer manager
- Multi-users with 3/4 levels of permissions
- Supports different file type : JPG, PDF, PNG, ZIP, Quicktime, Flash.
- Real download feature allowed only to registered users
- Must have a thumbnail image, medium preview file ( around 700px ), and a third high-resolution downloadable file ( only for registred member )
- Batch upload via ftp ( in recognized sub-folders ) and/or within a zip option ( batch upload from browser )
- Can handle a big amount of high resolution photos ( 3000x2000 pixels )
- Built-in ability to create thumbnails and preview images
- Ability to show the newest pictures uploaded in the gallery, on a different website
- A Newly Added images section
- Left or Right menu including links to some other categories and sub categories
- Each category AND sub-category need to be represented by a thumbnail of a photo that is inside the sub-category ( consequently a different one for each sub-category )
- Choice of thumbnails sizes ( including squared thumbnails )
- IPTC support ( very important )
- Exif
- E-card
- Log file of daily, weekly downloads
- Hyperlinked keywords search
- Search by keywords
- Files can be sorted by date or filename
- Ability to add keywords for each sub-category
- The gallery must be seen by everybody but only members can download the original 2000x3000 file

What we DO NOT need :

- guestbook
- voting, rating, polling, comments, etc ...
- show random, most popular, most viewed picture, etc ...

What we don't need NOW but could be implemented later :

- payment gateway ( at least not for now but might be implemented later, of course if it's added it's also paid )

No design is required but EVERYTHING must be thinked in XHTML Compliant spirit and purpose, and FULLY customizable in 1 or 2 CSS. The front-end administration area design must be separated from the future design of the gallery. One CSS for the admin, 1 or 2 CSS for the gallery. No design written directly in php files or some .tpl files like.

We know how budget isn't big to begin but if it works, the script could be sold later to other clients. We are working with photojournalists and photographers. Your script will keep your informations ( name, website ). If the concept gets some success, there will be % for each sale of the script. So, it's a present and future collaboration.

Again we need it to be done in a week or so ( maybe 10 days be we can't push more ) and you need to be free now.

You can be from anywhere on the globe as long as you talk english since it's the only international language we know ... french spoken welcome

I could do this, but it would cost $900 and take 2-3 weeks. That is FAR too large to get done by one person in a week ($500 is too low for one person, let alone a team).

Agreed, $500 is far too low for all of that, I was expecting to see "The World" on the end of the list of what you do want. Even $900 seems cheap, but if Village Idiot is happy at doing it for $900, he comes recommended from me.

its $900 because I have a script that can do some of it, 900 is still edging it I agree.

edit:
after reviewing the requirements once more (I didnt read through them well the first time), I raise my quote to $1700 and 3-4 weeks

I could do this for $1500 within 2 week time frame, $500 as stated is very low.

[edit] just seen that u rasied ur quote to $1700 :O didnt think i was undercutting, but posting above urs [/edit]

Wow, edit2, just seen you want a templating system on the admin :O. $1500 is still about right, but still, $500 is measly for this project.
