no WP themes in freelance giveaways
Hey,
Wouldn't it be better not allowing free WP themes in the freelance giveaways?
I see a freelance giveaway rather as something custom made or something you don't need anymore, that you give to 1 person.
WP themes should rather be in the Webdesign Resources forum.
IMO it would be better, because so far that forum is mainly used for free WP themes which are just a way to promote your own site.
Thanks.

Giving away Wordpress themes is just the same as giving away a domain, some socks, backlinks, etc. I see no reason why people can't post their WP themes in both forums.

It isn't for resources, it's for give aways.

Wordpress skins are generally taken as "goods". Resources are different.

Would it be considered free if its a sponsored theme? I understand links back to the creator's site because many free products include that requirement in their licenses. But requiring a link to a separate, unrelated site is almost like paying for the theme. Indirectly of course, but nevertheless, a sponsored theme isn't being released free out of pure generosity. I think that freelance giveaways should be given out without any intention of getting something out of it (excluding of course reputation, portfolio entries, practice, praise, and that good feeling you get for being generous). What do you think?
