Old  Most amount of money you've been scammed by?

I remember a while ago I was scammed of $50 for a graphic design but after pursuing the individual I recieved all the money back. Then there was the incident with a programmer (Jeremy Johnstone) who tried to steal $100 of mine, posting in public really does help

I would say the biggest incident related to being scammed came when a user paid for a bunch of templates with a stolen credit card, they paid me $1,000 for about 8 of my designs and this nearly got my paypal account locked.

What's the most you've ever been scammed by?

To clear that up BoxedPixels (not exactly good publicity) was that business conducted from this forum or is that user simply a member? I have banned the person in question when I found out about this incident.

$250 from a client who "disappeared" to go to war, but somehow managed to have his site redesigned by someone else in the meantime after he had already hired me to do his site...

No the user only just registered and the work was not conducted from talkfreelance, sorry I did not think about how that would be interpreted. I am glad to see the user has been banned.

I lost a $540 contract because of Cris Gwynne not doing his part of the work on time, in fact he never finished it at all, he just went AWOL one day.
