Hey TFL! I am a programmer, not a designer, so I need your feedback on a client's site!

http://mccunnlaw.pixolia.net/

I am aware that it is plain looking, and I would like to know what I could do to make it a bit more "colorful" and not so robotic.

They're a law firm, so I don't want to do anything crazy, but I have no authority over the logo so the colors should work around it. I'll check out what Kuler has to say as well.

Thanks

I've got to be honest, when a topic starts with "I'm not a designer" I do tend to shudder at what I might find, however...

Given that your working within the constraints of the logo/branding and the fact its a law firm - smashing job, I really like it. Its clean and to the point, the type of customer approaching this site will appreciate that.

I completely agree, it is pretty clean and simple, which is what I was going for. I just feel like... something is missing, you know? Maybe when I get the actual content from the client it'll all seem to go together.

Thanks

Does the client have any photography for you to put on the site? To be honest, rather than clutter the interface, a few photos here and there would add some colour/dimension to it.

The serif typeface was a good choice - it promotes an official/established feel. I'm guessing it also falls inline with printed materials i.e. letter paper, business cards etc.

Less is more
