Web pages resizing themselves

You've all seen it...a web page that uses Javascript to resize itself. These particularly annoy me because often I'm browsing in a maximised Firefox window with 5 tabs open and one of the background tabs decides to make my entire window 500x800 or something.

My question is, in Firefox is there any way to stop it without disabling Javascript entirely? Any extensions, or a setting I haven't found?

No extension sorry, but you can disable it.

Tools -> Options -> Content -> Advanced (across from "Enable javascript") -> (untick) Move or resize existing windows.
