Beautiful websites being neglected!
Hello Everyone,
Well since joining this forum i've been amazed with the high quality of web design everyones website has. But I was flicking through the 'Members sites' section and noticed that a huge number of sites have gone offline since the link was posted earlier this year. I've done some surfing around and found the designs for some of the sites and they are amazing!
Basically I am saying, why are websites with such beautiful designs being allowed to just go offline due to not being used?!
This is also a plee, if anyone has a website they are thinking of just closing down then contact me beforehand as I will more than likely take it off your hands for a good price.

A websites design is only one factor in its success, a beautifully designed site without a good plan will fail. People make websites to make money, not as a web art gallery, so if the site is not making money it is not worth the time it takes to run it. It is beyond me why you would want to buy an entire site that is failing because the design looks good.

Businesses can be bought when they are failing if someone thinks they can turn it around, but to generically ask for dying sites is odd. Even if you want to flip them that really hurts the value if he bought them as an alternative to closing the doors (enough to keep me away from the site).

I think you'd be surprised at how many good and practical sites are neglected simply because the owner doesn't have time for them! One site I purchased over a year ago was a forum, full of spam and is now a fully fledged site. Someone could have said to me 'just setup your own forum' but I decided to buy this one instead and got a good price for it!
A lot of millionaires have made there fortune by buying failing companies and turning them around, obviously you cant just go for any old company or site, you have to be selective

I agree with you Jack. As a matter of fact I remember creating quite a few websites in the past and they eventually got neglected over time. Some of them are just parked domains now. With my personal experience I would say it happened because I kept moving to different niches trying to make a quick buck rather than looking at the long term success I could have with the neglected sites.
Things have changed now and I'm a lot more careful on what I plan to get out of a website before I even think about starting it.

There are many beautiful websites that are just neglected in the net.

Design doesn`t matter, simplicity or complexity are relative. Money comes first

I believe people made their website beautiful so it'll make their visitors comfy and enjoy to stay around. But look at the underlined, beauty doesn't always mean the website leads enough traffics
Since there's no traffic, soon it'll be dying and useless.
The more important point of building the website is contents.
It doesn't matter how's the look, if you provide important articles and info, people will follow
