Will this mess up my google page positions?
I'm looking to completely revamp my hip hop blog undergroundhiphop.me. Instead of just transferring my database I would like to just copy & paste the current posts into a new wordpress installation/database, since all the images are messed up and there are tons of spelling/grammar errors.
Most of my traffic comes from my #1 spot on google for "eyedea quotes" . I don't want to mess this up or loose that position.
Will everything be fine as long as the URL and text stays the same? I would like to replace the images to fit a new theme. The html will probably be a bit different as well.
Thanks.

Should be alright as long as the URL and content are the same. Inbound links will continue to link to the same pages.

you mean to say you are doing a fresh wordpress installation on the same URL then copying the posts?
or are you doing the installation in some sub-directory?
The answer will depend on where you are installing new WP

It's all been moved, with no effect on my ranking. I even changed the permalinks. Wordpress did all the redirects automatically which is awesome!
Installed a cool free theme! Now I'm in the process of creating new images for everything and fixing all the spelling and grammar errors

Did you use a plug in for the redirects on your permalinks?

What would his web host know about this?

Nah wordpress did it for me all on it own, it wasn't a major change.
First it was:
date/postname
Now it's:
category/postname
Guess it's not even a redirect, both links take you to the same page
