  Old  Email Advertising

What is the best thing to do when we advertise through email? Many people tend to consider an email a spam when they don't know who the sender was. Well, that is what I do when I see some ads and when I don't know who the sender was.

Never send uninvited emails to your potential buyers or anyone else. I think that's the rule of thumb in email advertising. Build your list first then send your advertising emails to them.

Yes, building your list is the way to go. The other point is that you should offer what your subscribers want to buy instead of what you want to sell. It is easier said than done. But you can promote affiliate products and to give your subscribers more options of products they can buy.

When building a list make sure you're honest about the frequency of the e-mails you'll be sending as it should be clear to the subscriber that they should be expecting daily e-mails or monthly ones so that they don't mistaken it for spam.

Affiliate products might be good as well but be careful when doing that if the affiliate site contains products very similar to the main one you're attempting to sell.

Never send unsolicited offers. These emails tend to be sent under spam or deleted immediately because as you have said that people will delete most emails in which they don't know where it came from.

My question though is that how do you get your email list?

You can use something called a queeze page to capture your visitors' basic information (usually their first names and email addresses). You can offers a free ebook, free report, free membership or other freebies in return of their email addresses.

Thanks for that answer. Now that I know how to get email addresses from interested people, how should I make the email that will get them to buy the things I'm offering them? I mean, do I need to make it graphical or can simple text suffice?

When I advertise my products through email I always make sure to include a payment link. Some people want to buy the product but don't want to bother searching the internet or searching your site for the purchase link. They also prefer not to contact you directly, instead they'd like a quick process.
