  Old  grunge

Ive been having a lot of trouble lately. Im trying to do a grunge design, but honestly I cant say ive ever done one. Where should I start? I dont know how to do ripped page effects or have a dirty look. I know design, just not grunge. Help me out please.

the help section in every program which will learn you how to use their program, like the help in windows or internet explorer ...etc

Have some grunge inspiration from Smashing Magazine and search for some torn paper photoshop tutorial and experiment using some grunge brushes. You can always find it using google.

for torn paper I'd usually look to split the layers and use a pen tool to create a jagged or marred edge. maybe a slight shadow (maybe only 30% opacity) on the side which would be "below".

Also you can download a few grunge brushes. Just google "Free Grunge Brushes" or go to deviantArt they have some really nice ones.

you could also find some fonts, tutorials, ect. on deviantart. that site really is amazing for photoshopping.
