Member Website Announcements Suggestion
I love blogging, and I know there are a lot of people on Talkfreelance that feel the same way. I think it would be a good idea to have a separate sub-forum in "Member Website Announcements" for blogs: Each person would create a topic, with their blog name as the title. The person with the latest update, would be taken to the top of the list, and so on and so forth.
Personally, I think this would be a great idea and would make it easier for bloggers to post updates (rather than creating a new topic every time, or posting in a topic which is hidden three pages down). This would also make it easier for people who like reading blogs: they would be able to find updates and new blogs much easier than before.
Just an idea I have.

Well, I just thought (and it's only in my opinion, not the staff as a whole) that maybe if we create a new profile field where people could update a link that would go to the latest blog post.
However along with this suggestion I would suggest that it only be viewed when viewing the whole profile, not in the postbit.
Regards,
Jeff

Digitalpoint.com has a forum mod where you enter your blog's rss url, and it displays your latest post under your username and in your profile. I suggest installing that.

I think if we were to implement a hack like this it would be minus the postbit display of the latest post to keep advertising down. Would be an awesome addon for inside a person's profile though.

I think keeping it a thread would be better for everyone. It would be easier to do and they would all be together, meaning easier to find.

If it wasn't in the postbit, that means there's not really a good way to tell other people that you've updated your blog. That's why I agree with Steven Fergus about having a sub-forum for blogs - it seems more organized. Just one thread per blog, and the most recent goes to the top. It makes more sense to me.

Maybe I'm a weirdo, but if I want to keep updated with someone's blog then I'll subscribe to his or her RSS feed myself. I very rarely browse the Member Website Announcement forum because it is mostly just blog updates.
