How do you know Ad Words is working?

Hello:

I recently started using Ad Words and I can tell when people click my ad and how many times it is displayed from the Google panel. How can I tell if the person who purchased my product actually used Ad Words to get to my site?

Do you use a survey or is there a better less obvious method?

you;ll just need to track your visitors and see which url is referring them to your site.

You can set up ecommerce tracking in google analytics. Or set up a goal in analytics and make the goal things like "entered checkout" (with the appropriate URL) - then you can look at visitors "by source" and see what % from adsense fulfilled that goal.

You'll need to add some kind of tracking id to your link.
