I think you mean copyright? copy writing is writing copy(text) that will help you sell.

You can't copyright 'ideas'.
Read the Wikipedia page on copyright
Copyright law covers only the form or manner in which ideas or information have been manifested, the "form of material expression". It is not designed or intended to cover the actual idea, concepts, facts, styles, or techniques which may be embodied in or represented by the copyright work. For example, the copyright which subsists in relation to a Mickey Mouse cartoon prohibits unauthorized parties from distributing copies of the cartoon or creating derivative works which copy or mimic Disney's particular anthropomorphic mouse, but does not prohibit the creation of artistic works about anthropomorphic mice in general, so long as they are sufficiently different to not be deemed imitative of the original.

You can never copyright a website. Just make it harder for future competitors to succeed in your niche.

Why would your coders be disclosing your scripting anyway :s
Just read the wikipedia page like I mentioned before...it's pretty clear tbh.

I think you mean patent:
A patent is a right granted for any device, substance, method or process which is new, inventive and useful.
A patent is legally enforceable and gives the owner the exclusive right to commercially exploit the invention for the life of the patent. This is not automatic-you must apply for a patent to obtain exclusive rights to exploit your invention.

Also, patents (at least here in the US) can take a couple of years to get. I don't see the point of patenting a website, competition is what makes it fun!
