  Old  Bird Flu

What are your thoughts on this.

I read on the BBC site that if it mutates so it can be passed between humans then a minimum of 50,000 of people will die in the UK alone (around 12,000 people a year die in the UK of normal flu) but it could rise to around 750,000.

Experts estimate that it could wipe out between 2million and 50million people worldwide

Thoughts anyone?

I think that's just an inflation, it could possibly be media manipulation to get people to 'eat and live healthier'.

You never know.

If it does happen I don't see why everyone thinks it will be so contageous. It would be like the regular flu, only through coughing and sneezing. If there is an avian flu breakout you should be fine to go out aslong as you wear a mask and then comeback and boil your clothes, if you came in contact with a sneezing/coughing person.

The reason everyone thinks it will be so contagious is because scientists and experts are predicting that if it alters so that it can be passed from human to human that it will be much more contagious.

What kind of mask would you be able to wear that would be able to stop germs passing through it?
