Need some advice
Well first off, i'll explain my intentions.
I'm looking towards starting a local web design hobby/business to help local business (small) access the world's largest audience (internet) to showcase their products, services or just anything they want to tell everyone. I don't think being 16, will be a problem... do you?
The hardest part of things is how am i going to get the word out that my services are available? Should i do up some of those "pull off" sheets and post them on bulletin boards with the site URL? Put an ad in the local paper?
I'm open to new things, i'm really thinking of getting serious on this.
Now, with that said. To be serious, one must have a respectable name.
I really can't have anything too weird, or technical due to the fact that i live in a rural region where a lot of people are still grasping the fact that the internet can actually get their name out to thousands, if not millions of people.
I'm looking to use my real name, although i do not know what variation i should use and what i should tag on as the service title.
Common website title? (JAWS)
Jeffrey Andersen Web Services
Jeff Andersen Web Services
Jeff Andersen Web Solutions
Jeffrey Andersen Web Solutions
Generic website title?
Jeffrey Andersen, Web Design Consultant.
Jeff Andersen, Web Design Consultant.
Any constructive and mature advice is very much appreciated.

I choose:
Jeffrey Andersen Web Solutions
and
Jeffrey Andersen, Web Design Consultant.
Is jeffrey your name? Or is it jeff? You should use your full first name.

Ad in the paper.....
Flyouts along with newspapers.
Ask friends to spread the word around.
Get out on your own..... go the people and talk to them about your business and how your business can help them.
you have to decide who you want to target .
for eg a local book shop would find a website more useful to do business than say a grocery store.
At the same time a local grocery store could use the website to take local orders and deliver it at home in nearby areas.
it will be hard to convince people about the useful ness of internet........ i myself started a company in a rural area and know how difficult it is.....
a good place to target is charity organisations in and around your place......
another group of people are lawyers and Accountants who are running private businesses........
the main thing is to first select the person you want to visit or market to....
then think of a proper plan of how the website would be useful to his /her business.
do some local work for free.....
maybe banners for a charity organisation........
or something like that
just to get your name out there
BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff is alot more personal, perhaps on the business side of things (cards, website) call yourself Jeffrey as it's more professional and has a better ring to it...but when you deal with your clients you can say "Hey, just call me Jeff!"
