XAMPP stands for Apache, MySql, PHP, Perl with the X being a placeholder for the Operating System since XAMPP can be run on Linux, Windows, Mac, and Solaris.

I downloaded Wamp a few months ago when I was playing around with MySQL/PHP and had it running in no more than a few minutes

Well what do ya know? This set up in 2 min and it worked, I spent hours trying to install them manually just to give up. I simply turn it on and off when I need it and dont, therefore it never eats my processor up. My server is down and I dont have to wait!!!!

I used EasyPHP every day for the fact that it's easy to turn on and off.
