PHP Widget

Right well i want to be able to make basic PHP variables into short widgets for e.g.:

$myname = "Jack";

then if i want to display this i can put something like

{myname}

Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

You could use echo "this is {$myname}"; or integrating the Smarty template library, which invokes TPL files.
