Hello to everyone !
I've been lurking around this site for a while now, and finally joined a couple of weeks ago. I'm not really sure if I qualify as a freelancer. My real job is to design racing engine components during the day, and I work evenings and weekends at an engine shop, assembling racing engines for sprint cars, road racing, and offshore marine performance applications.
I started teaching myself Photoshop and Dreamweaver about 2 years ago as a hobby, and have really enjoyed working with digital media. My boss at my day job knew that I was interested in this, and that my skills were improving. The company paid for the newest versions of the software that I was using, and the monthly fees for an online training site. Over time I've taken over the duties of all the artwork for our magazine ads and promotional materials, created both company websites, and produced 2 promotional videos.
Outside of the company, I'm working on a couple of websites for owners of other performance businesses, and I've created a few company logos, and some promotional materials. I know most aspects of the performance industry very well, as I've been involved with it for over 20 years. Performance marketing is the direction I'd like to go with what I've learned. There just aren't enough hour in the day.
So..... Do I qualify as a freelancer ?
