  Old  Google not indexing backlinks?

So, one of my sites..
iWebTool, is showing 380-440 backlinks to it.
Yahoo, says 5,544.
Yet Google is only showing 10.

Any clues as to what's going on?

Maybe Google hasn't indexed all those sites linking to you yet, and Yahoo has ...
I always thought iWebTool gets here data mainly from google (where else?). Unless the backlinks shown are from yahoo, they'll be from google, and you just can't see them yet for some reason.

And i doubt you can have PR2 with about 10 backlink ... or these 2 have very high PR's.

It's normal for google to not show all the backlinks pointing to your site.

Maybe so, but displaying only 2.x% of them is strange.

It's quite frustrating, because Text Link Ads partially determine whether they accept a site into their program based on the amount of backlinks it has.
Therefore my application is automatically declined when I apply. ><

Out of curiosity, what does text-link-ads have for acceptance in regards to backlinks? I was denied too, and I'm over 30,000 uniques, and almost 300,000 pages listed in Google...

According to this tool: http://www.dnscoop.com/ you could sell 8 links at 10$ each.
Don't look at the value of your site, it's only basd on backlinks

This is true, it is widely held that Google does not directly report all the backlinks they have collected for your website.

A great tool is Yahoo. They accurate depict backlinks and it is widely held that they sort him by importance.

Ummm - it seems a pretty dum idea to judge a site on. Backlinks purely as a number can easily be inflated by huge proportions by joining a link network like DP's coop or linkvault. This will get you thousands of very low quality, non relevant links in a very short period of time - however it obviously is no reflection of a sites quality - and if anything it should be penilised against not rewarded - I'd be wary of having my sites associated with such networks (I've been penilised heavily before for getting involved in them).

Google's spider is way stronger than others and it indexes all the backlinks. Its just that it doesnt shows them. It shows only the most strong ones

it may be that it only counts ones that are included in its alogrithm. - I know a lot of DP Coop sites that have hundreds of thousands of links - but on a few backlinks show in Google.
