Increase CTR
I have a site that gets a large amount of visitors a day, however I am getting a rather rubbish CTR.
Where should I place the ads to increase the amount of clicks but not put people off coming back to the website

Create another 'Featured Tutorial' row. Stick a half-banner in there.
Square ad unit in the 'Latest News' box.

Thanks for replying Indy,
I was thinking of putting one in the featured bit, just wanted some opinions first

Throw ads all over the site; put them just about everywhere. Track which ones get the most clicks, and remove the ones that don't get any. That's the most effective way, but visitors probably won't like it ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)

Some tips I would give:
Blend ads with content
Place high up on page
Other things to think of
Sometimes more is less. More ads don't convert into more revenue. Can actually be less
Experiment with ad links
Using competitive ad filter to stop irrelevant ads.

From my experience, it is best to put Google ads in the forum side-bar just like here in TF.

Try using Adsdaq.com with googles combine. Adsdaq pays more per CTR. IF they dont have any ads available then googles becomes the default. Go to the website. You"ll see what im talking about. There are other companies that do this too. I cant remember the others on top of my head. You should be able to increase your revenue more.

Try to stick the ads in a way where they don't appear to be ads anymore and users click them thinking they are part of your content.

You have quite a bit of empty space on your website, and I think my product, emptyspaceads could help you monetize it better with CTR of 3% or so if you count conservatively and 6% if not.
