Old  Web Design Breakdown Process (Help)

Hey,

I'm reasonably new to the world of web design, I'm actually quite familiar with modifying websites, so I've a decent grounding in CSS, HTML and I can navigate through php docs (though I couldn't write php to save my life..).

The biggest problem I currently face, Is learning the breakdown process. I can design a layout in Photoshop pretty well (In my own opinion anyway ) but I've yet to find a tutorial that shows you how to break down a design into a proper page (I've seen quite a few tutorials, saying about using tables/exact positioning, exporting HUGE header and background slices (where they could be done with repeats).

Does anyone know anywhere that has a really decent breakdown tutorial?

Thanks in advance guys.

Mike

You're looking for a tutorial on 'slicing'. Just Google, there are some great ones out there.

I haven't had any luck finding one that covers doing anything other than leaving it in the table/absoloutly positioned css, and at this point I know how to slice it to that point,

I need something with a little more depth, covering say Photoshop to a proper fluid width template...

Thoughts?

And thanks for the reply

That's a good list. Perhaps you might one of those tutorials a little more expansive and/or suitable to your requirements.

Let me know if that still doesn't help you

Oilver, you're a Gem.

I'm at the girlfriends tonight, but I'll look at these in more detail tomorrow evening.

Thanks

Mike
