  Old  Offline Advertising

Is it advisable to promote my website through offline advertisements? I reckon that I will spend much more when I advertise through offline methods. But will I get good visits to my website if I extend my advertisements through offline ads?

What is your website? what does it reflect?

If it's something online based i.e. web development... it's not really worth offline advertising. In my opinion...

If it's something like a motor site selling car parts or a shop of some sort then it will appeal to the general public alot more

Hope this helps.

I disagree. Many local business may need to refresh/create a web presence and don't know where to turn. Many freelancers make most of their money by local work, and to get that local work, "offline advertising", namely fliers and business cards, are a brilliant way.

I agree with Gaz, When I move back to Italy I plan to expose myself to the local community. I've done so here in Thailand and found my biggest clients from locals, almost triple the pay of online clients. You need to start off with business cards and flyers.

Ok, bad example....

web deisgn will be needed all over I suppose... if I was to spend £100 on creating offline advertising I would much rather pay buysellads.com or someone similar $50 to thousands of impressions more.

Don't get me wrong im not saying it's bad as all advertising is great (how else would people know you) that's why I asked what it's regarding - i.e. I wouldn't go and spend money promoting my tutorial site as in my opinion it will be wasted money it can be spent better else where.

It won't be wasted if that £100 gets you 5 clients all who pay 3 time as much as online clients, Chris.

I will drop a business card anytime I am out for lunch or even for a night cap. Why would you only limit yourself to those in the online world. Both work.

I depends on the niche. If it is locally targeted then offline marketing is the way to go. This can include flyers, paper ads, magazine ads, business cards etc.

You don't have to spend much for offline advertisements. More often, word of the mouth can be used as long as you make a great job of what you offer people. Posting ads on internet cafes is the best place to advertise if you offer online or computer services.

Offline advertising is nothing bu advertising without the help of internet. Yes it is possible with prints, t-shirts and flyers.
