Old  What is the general thought on drop-down navigation?

Personally, I try to avoid drop-down navigation, especially multi-level. It can be useful in some situations, but most of the time there are better ways to do things.

I wrote an article on my site that goes a little bit deeper about my feelings on multi-level drop-down menus.

What is the general thought here?
