Choosing a domain name

Hey, I'm trying to create a domain name, any tld will do. I've spent a lot of time thinking about a simple professional domain to use with my server. I'm going to use this domain for email, sever access, and my portfolio. There is no product or website being run on this ip, it's strictly for personal access.

Instead of asking for some good domains. I'm asking for some tips on choosing a good domain.

If anyone is trying to sell some domains please pm me with a list and I will reply. My budget on a domain is pretty high, but I will not state what it is.
