I've started many businesses in my day, and my first piece of advice to young entrepreneurs is to never spend a dime on legal help. There is a company called Nolo, they are a "self help legal" company. Buy one of their books about starting a business in your state. You can do everything a lawyer can do, they are totally useless and get your sidetracked spending money and doing things that are not in your best interest. Read the Nolo book and you will see my point more clearly.
What you do need is a good accountant. Accountants actually add value to your business, and most of the time they can answer your simple legal questions. With Nolo and a good accountant, you should be set with the red tape aspect of business.
