  Old  Quick Html question

Hey i'm making my portfolio right now , just in plain html
and i'm making in with dreamweaver studio 8 on the designers view.
And i was wondering , if i had this table created at lets say 200 W
and eum 100 B , What do i need to do to lock that 200 W?
I mean like normally in a table when you type text in it , and the line gets full , the table gets widther. I don't want that i want it to stop at 200 and then go to the next line. So the table only grows in depth.

Anyone know this?

First off, you really shouldn't be using designer mode in DW since the DW rendering is extremely buggy, the code generated is very messy, and you don't have the level of control over a page that you'd get with pure HTML and CSS.

If your table (which you shouldn't use in the first place) has a set width (in px, not %), then it shouldn't expand

what you wan to do can be done in javascript (its quite complex, i havent done it but ive seen the code).

anyway.. if the width is set it should just make a new line when the text gets too wide

I've used split mode in DW and never had a problem with messy/buggy code. Even though you are done, I will give you the easy solution, rather than JavaScript, etc.

Simply set your width to 200px, rather than a %.

It's that easy.
