I don't agree that validators are poop. They are very handy and show if you code html correctly or not.
Lot of people code sloppy.

Well he can cater to at least 97% of it... lol
PS: As a coder - Safari is very frustrating, it has more quirks than any other browser, even Opera.

For example, 6% of visitors to one of my sites are on Safari. To be quite honest I'd rather not ignore 1 in every 16 visitors just because it's not a 'major browser'. Interestingly, on said site I have 18 times more Safari visitors than Opera. (All figures from Google Analytics)

They where just off the top of my head, being a Windows user and never using a Mac, i've never come accross it.
