Start off with a normal shared hosting account then as the site grows, and your revenue grows upgrade it as and when needed.

Ofcourse it's ok, but that was not my point, but let me ask you this, in your oppinion they are not overselling right? they just provide half the BW that you get with a dedicated server that costs around 100$/mo, and they give you this at a measly $7.77/mo.
I wonder what will happen .. if half of their customers would consume all the BW that they have :P

I dunno. For each item I'd like to be able to have from 2 minute to 15 minute videos. If not videos, then media in flash format. Flash would probably be a lot easier to use.

Then you should go with a shared account and see how's that goying, it's really up to you how you want to stream your files , alltough for the UDP streaming i have mentioned aboved you will need a dedicated server, so from what i understand from you , this is not the case , so i guess you will be just fine with a shared account, but watchout for the BW.
Regards

I have seen hosting that is shared and allows for udp... I remember it being very costly, but not as bad as dedicated.
