Php is easier, and open source.
Asp is microsfot, so alot of companies prefer it.

Before you start spouting off against ASP, please know at least a little of what you're talking about. ASP is not "a microsoft created language", nor is it a language at all. It's not like Visual Basic, unless you're using VBScript! Alternatives include JScript and C# which are completely different to VB.

have you been taking drugs recently?
it IS a microsoft created technology, and by "like" visual basic I was simply stating that is a microsoft language. and, it IS a language, but it is translated into HTML.
maybe YOU should learn what you are talking about.

"have you been taking drugs recently?" Why, yes actually I have. Lots of caffiene, and the occasional other stimulant. Though that is hardly of relevance here.
ASP (and .NET) may well be a Microsoft created technology, but it certainly is not a microsoft created language which is what you originally stated. Let me reiterate: ASP is not a language. JScript, VBScript, C#, Java, PHP, Perl, and so on are languages. ASP is not.
"But it is translated into HTML"... there you just confused me. Since when has any (web) programming language been "translated" into HTML?
And before you come back with an equally intelligent reply again, please do not insult my intelligence and knowledge in this field by saying, "maybe YOU should learn what you are talking about."

You were clearly stating misinformation. I was just correcting you.
Sorry Rob, you know we've all got better things to do than bicker of the uselessness of Microsoft.
