Virus scanner poll
I'm in the market to purchase a virus scanner for my computer, thought I would ask what everyones favourite scanner is of choice.
(not sure what forum I should have put this in, i'm probably going to end up turning this one into software/hardware shortly!)
Vote away!

Although I chose Mcaffee since its the one I use and I haven't had any problems, I have read that NOD32 is meant to the best.

NOD32 has terrible documentation and support though, I'd try something like Kaspersky Antivirus, or AVG 7, which are good all-round scanning softwares.
The best one is probably Norton Antivirus, with 97/100, McAffee just underneath with about 96. Standalone, mind. Avoid the Internet Security Packages, as they all come with **** software, especially Nortons.

Urm, I don't use Virus Scanners any more, but when I did have one, I used McAfee, had no problems with it at all. Seemed to pick up all the viruses if I kept it updated properly.

I tried NOD32 for a while last year -- I didn't like it. The interface was clunky, and I never got the feeling it was actually doing anything. It just didn't seem as polished as some of the other products, and it never detected a virus in the entire time I ran it. Maybe I was just lucky...

While I was using Windows, I used Avast. It was the best I had come accross.
The best part is it's open source so you don't even have to pay for it. Give it a try.

AVG, I have been using it on multiple computers for over 5 years now.
I have never had a problem with it.
