I am not sure what level of weaponry your talking about, but it is a common fact that the AK-47 and its variants (74, 101, etc.) are far superior to the M4 Series (I think its called.) However if your talking about other weapons (Mortars, Humvees, Support Gear) I just wasted your time.

Friends was another bad word choice on my part, I probably was thinking more along the lines of "Allies" which could be out of fear as well.

1,000,000 more soldiers is not a very big difference in the scheme of things.

If I remember correctly from past history lessons, the United States was outnumbered 4:1 in the Battle of Midway in WWII. They still destroyed 332 jap planes and all 4 aircraft carriers, and turned the tide of the war at the same time.

As people have said before, manpower isn't everything.

There are way too many factors to say who would win over who, take Vietnam for example, not only was it the intricate bunker systems but it was mainly the terrain. Manpower didn't win the war, the region fought a lot of the battle. Factors like terrain, manpower, technology and even strategy and morale have a big impact.

Would need more of a precise situation to give a proper vote.
Very few wars are fought "alone." In any given war scenario we are usually supported by someone, however slight it may be.

We have only used nukes twice, and they were both during WWII. We would have won regardless, but it would have cost us about 1 million more lives.

There is a reason for lack of success in other modern wars since then. Ever since the Korean War there has been a trend. In the beginning there is overwhelming support for the war, then people start doubting the war's validity... and we are eventually pressured to withdraw. Vietnam is a prime example, and many people believe that Iraq will potentially turn out the same way.

I pray to God we won't cut and run like we did in Vietnam. It meant hell for the South Vietnamese and it would mean hell for the people of Iraq and that entire region.

Or people who want to escape their oppressive nations and are looking to better their lives, the lives of their family, and the lives of those who are yet to be born.

One of those.

As an american, you grow up, attend school, and are told by everyone IN america that america is the best place on earth, that it has the best system of government, the most correct system of government. Not only this, but that any other system of government or way of life is wrong and flawed.

From birth americans are brainwashed into some sort of blind patriotism - something the founding fathers would roll over in their graves to **** on. Very few americans have any idea of what our government was created to be in the first 30 years of it's existence, and how far we have truly fallen from that place.
