Old  using text indent to hide text

Ok - So my sites logo is contained within the background of my h1 header tag.

For example, <h1 id='logo'>Welcome to MySiteName . com</h1>

My style sheet applies a negative indent on the text to keep in from being displayed on the page. Is this considered bad practiced? I noticed Digg does it - but i got to thinking as a I put a new site and noticed it has not indexed completely (it's only been a few days) to allow for my to find my site by simply typing MySiteName in google.

Bad practice? I always thought the code looked much prettier than using the alternative

<h1 id='logo'><img src='...' alt='Welcome to MySiteName . com' /></h1>

Thanks for your responses!

Mike
