It's not like he sold personal data anyway, he just sold the site. The buyer didn't buy it for a few twitter account details, he bought it because of its popularity (good or bad).

I think if you read back majority of us were actually in YOUR favor. I guess you didn't look past the few jokes we made in the beginning, but even after that some of the other comments we made were backing you up... But hey, whatever.
I really wouldn't even say there was an ordeal other than a few of us completely disagreeing with some of the posts found on other sites. Hell, the blog entry I originally linked, I contacted him letting him know that you could put a suit against him for libel/defamation of character where he included your personal address... And do you see that blog post up now? No.

I was not talking directly to you, or people that posted in here. Just a lot of via twitter and msn have said things. And CrazyRyan your post was completely wrong, he completely sold the data lol pownce was bought for its personal data and accounts as you can see the site is down and does not even redirect to another site. I sold a site because of its popularity. The buyer of my site actually told me did didnt want the database, so i love all those assumptions also.
And again, sorry jordan if you toke my post the wrong way and I thank you and the others who dont just follow a crowed..

Ah, okay, no need to say sorry! Either way, I think the backlash was like that because it's just the bandwagon effect. Once some [popular] person says A, then everyone else says A... Once he says B, they all change their opinion to.
Half the crap people went on about were entirely false. I still think your idea had a lot of potential, albeit, missing some key ingredients, but hey! :P
Hopefully that won't scare you from producing more Twitter applications.

Conrad, you misinterpretated. I meant that you weren't selling the site because of the data that comes with it, but the service that it provides.
