Yes TFL is the place to discuss SEO, but what we want to promote is a tool that will make certain aspects of SEO easier for site owners and not a forum for discussing SEO.
I can see that some people might think that we would use the links to promote SSS, I can confirm that this is not the case and this can be demonstrated by the fact that we could easily carry out that marketing now whilst we have full control of the site.
One option would be not to sell TFL until we have comleted the marketing and this might still be the case if the auction does not generate a high enough bid, but I think that as we are still unsure of the exact launch date for the product TFL would benefit from having a new owner sooner rather than later.
I hope this helps to explain why we want some marketing rights retained.
