There would be absolutely no use in citing such a study as by their very nature any individual studies will never tell the whole story. I'd like to see an actual scientific study indicating that weed is more harmful than alcohol—why not.

I agree with Salathe. But try googling comparisons of marijuana and alcohol. I know google isn't always right but I'm yet to find an article that states marijuana is worse than alcohol - lots of articles on the opposite though.

Our government released an independent study showing so. Smoking cigarettes is even worse.

It's a natural herb and we in America were brain washed to think it is the worse thing you can ever do. "It's a DRUG" well so is caffeine.

Don't do it and don't plan to - however I think legalizing and taxing would save the US dollar.

Just so it is clear - there is no real reason as to why weed is illegal in the USA. Most think it is based off of the christian religion.

Cigarettes were the cause of early death to many people I knew, I believe that cigarettes should be banned too.

Not all drugs are equal. Aspirin is a drug, so is crystal meth.

At the expense of lives, not that it is stopping with with cigarettes though.

Please, don't even try to argue that American law is governed in any way by the bible. Cigarettes are legal and so are many other things that we believe are bad. Saying that it is because of Christians is a scapegoat used to discredit opponents of a position without actually arguing the point.

But they are closest we can come, and they are relied off of without that argument in about every other context.

While not a direct comparison, this link contains backed information on the dangers of marijuana. This would alone indicate that it is not as dangerous as alcohol

Research has shown that marijuana’s adverse impact on learning and memory can last for days or weeks after the acute effects of the drug wear off.
If you don't believe it because its "the man" reporting their lies, credible fact is not a part of your reasoning and I have no way or interest in trying to convince you away from your beliefs. If all scientists who go against you are liars, what can possibly convince you that you are wrong?

I do not dispute that cigarettes are terrible, I would love nothing more than to see them banned (I consider them in the same category). Alcohol can have terrible effects, especially if you choose to drive while under the influence. But alcohol is not as addictive and wares off fairly fast.

Actually, recent research may actually show that cannabis helps prevent the memory loss experienced by people suffering from Alzheimer's. And no, I'm not saying you are incorrect. But the same goes for alcohol.

And alcohol - should alcohol be banned too in your eyes? And I would seriously recommend you take a second look at the affects on the human body caused by alcohol intake.

Again, I would like to see credible information pointing to this.

No, I do not believe that alcohol should be banned.

To use enigma's post for a reference on alcohol

1) Gets you on a drunk
2) You smell of it for days
3) Messes your liver + kidneys up long term.

so yeah.....

This says that elements of the drug can help us with preventing Alzheimer's, not that weed is safe to smoke.

edit: Many drugs are turned down due to their adverse side effects.

You're right -- VI "IN GOD WE TRUST" isn't all over our currency and Christianity probably played absolutely no role in law making. (Remind me; how are we sworn in?)
