Old  So which IDE do you guys use?

I can't believe this hasn't been asked already here, but I'm trying to find an alternative to Aptana, which is pretty much a plugin for Eclipse. The thing that keeps me from switching straight to a notepad derivative is the autocomplete function and syntax highlighting. I actually kind of want to learn how to use Vim, and the only thing that's keeping me back is autocomplete since it saves me so much time. As much as I love how expandable Eclipse is, it's just way too bulky for my requirements, so if anyone knows of an editor with syntax highlighting for html, css, php and perl, along with autocompletion, I may just do your laundry for a week... >.>

Yeah it mostly depends on what language you're talking about? I dont need an IDE for PHP or HTML or anything, but there's many options for C++ or Java and the like.

For Java programming I use Eclipse, and I use it with the Aptana plugin for HTML and CSS. I use Vim for everything else.

After you learn to use Vim you can edit files very fast without even moving your hands from one part of the keyboard. I would like to try to learn emacs, though

Textmate, very simple editor but does the job for PHP based websites.

I had been using Eclipse PDT which is the most powerful open source IDE available, but then it turned too slow and I switched to NetBeans because it's still feature-rich but more lightweight.
