  Old  MAKE $50 by fixing an IE rendering problem for me!

hey,

the site in question is at http://katieherman.com/acelin/

the problem lies in IE's rendering of the site. I validated it. all that's left is trivial stuff like missing image alt tags. Basically, the entire header/navigation/top is all messed up. What it looks like in firefox is what it's supposed to look like.

Feel free to take a look, as I have a feeling (judging by the problem) that the error is just due to a tiny bit of whitespace that I'm code-blind to becuase I've been working on this site for so long and that you guys will be able to pick out in an instant.

Thanks in advance and take care,

Cameron

Hehe, first of all you will fail trying to use IE conditionals like that...

Choose one or the other (table or no table)... Don't use tables just because IE is not rendering your CSS the same. Tweak your CSS to get IE to render properly.

Also, your not supposed to have any tags within the <ul> except the <li>. If you want a sub-list you make it like this:

Code:
<ul>
        <li>Main List</li>
        <li>
                <ul>
                        <li>Sub-List</li>
                </ul>
        </li>
</ul>
I hate saying this to people but I'd go back and re-do the entire thing... That code has very little logic to it.

True, but too many people use IE because it comes stock with windows to simply ignore it.

IE is the devil. I don't have a local copy of IE, but I'll check it out tomorrow. Anytime I run across an IE problem, I always check margins & padding. That covers 90% of the problems I've seen.

Love it or hate it, without IE many front end developers would be out of a job.
