Old  [Class Work] Rework Planet Hollywood Hotel

Just something from class I wanted to share..

Assignment: Rework the current planet hollywood logo to fit a new theme.

Theme: I grew up near a planet hollywood in san francisco, I have eaten there before and I never liked the blue/red color scheme and logo they had gone with, it felt too kiddy. So I took to my sketchpad and reimagined the logo to be more of a seal, lika hollywood studio almost, golden and a call to the old days of hollywood glamour. I think it fits better with a Las Vegas themed hotel, since Vegas hotels have been making moves from being Kid Oriented to upscale.

Yea, my goal was sort of to shy away, but I thought keeping an actualy planet drawing behind hollywood would suffice.

I like it, but the Hollywood text is too unstyled for my likings.

Thats the way I pay through school. I used to be an art director for a local company when I was 17. I quit and now have them under a "client list" and renegotiated my hourlies, which allows me to go to school and have multiple clients. !

It sucks to be in the web classes though, cause those teachers are still using tables to teach. They define dreamweaver as a website builder instead of the CODE. I could code the same in notepad, dreamweaver just organizes crap better.

I think using only one color kills it but that's just me.
