I'm Back! RegisterDub (Logo Design)

Well it's winter break, so I'm taking on some new jobs for the next few weeks. Here is one of my first new clients, the site is RegisterDub.com

The old site was playing off the word "Dub" which means:

dub1 (dŭb) pronunciation
tr.v., dubbed, dub·bing, dubs.

1. To tap lightly on the shoulder by way of conferring knighthood.
2. To honor with a new title or description.

Since the king (or queen) would usually do the "dubbing" I thought it was a good way to go with the logo.

The artwork is 100% original, I did however have a playing card next to me as a reference.

Looks pretty good, i don't know if i like the face or not :-/ but i like the colors

I'm not sure what to think of it, I'd like to see it on a white background to being with.

Same, though I think the face is the source of strangeness. Too wide perhaps? Crown outline too thick and simple? =/

The hair to the left is too wide.

Agree with all the above posts, it looks like you tried to make it have a 3d appereance, but it looks flat.

Yeah, there is too much space on the left that is covered with hair. I suggest taking out about 4 strands, then make the crown a bit smaller.

Other than that, it looks great and it's a good idea.

I like where you're going with this but it still needs work. I would try experimenting with what you have. Try moving things around, simplifying the graphics, or different typefaces. Maybe try something like this:

I like it alot, but I agree with the crown outline being too thick, too much hair on the left and the face looks more square than a rounded shape.
