Old  Flash Video Players - How?

Ok, I'm a complete novice when it comes to Flash to be honest; but a client has suggested that he was thinking about using YouTube to embed Flash video's of some of his works into the site and I suggested that it may be prudent to have his own instead of using YouTube.

I have never created one of these before, but I am interested in learning.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or even better an easy to follow online guide that I can follow to create one.

He only has about ten videos' that he wants to be able to play on there, but I felt the current method he has been using (using Windows Media Player) was not great.

Any help is very much appreciated.
