Old  Latest work - Mediterranean Restaurant

Hey guys,

Haven't been around here for a while, but I just finished the design and coding for my latest client's site.

My client is a local mediterranean restaurant, and the brief was simply to use the colours used in the restaurant on the walls, and avoid straight lines that make the website look corporate (the owner wanted a home-made, family-run look). He also wanted to keep the site simple as he was on a relatively low budget (relative to other clients of mine).

Nice and simple, I think the orange colour from the restaurant could of been used to make it a bit more interesting but still looks good

doesn't really have that hand made feeling. to be totally honest, all this feels like is taking a basic fluid web template and swapping in grungy lines for straight ones. the architecture and photo arrangement is very close to a site i did last year, which is exactly i hate it - it looks like everything else. there's no personality to it.

you're approaching the design thinking too much like a developer. adapting the sign/menu into a web interface would feel a lot more hand made.

I quite like it, actually. It is a lot like other stuff, but it still looks a lot better than a lot of restaurant sites that are still back in the Frontpage 98 era.

It looks nice and basic, a bit more contrast in the colour probably won't go a miss. Good work
